Edward Durell Stone: The architect of U.S. embassy in New Delhi

Edward Durell Stone (March 9, 1902 – August 6, 1978) was a twentieth century American architect.He designed many famous buildings in US alone. US embassy in New Delhi was one of his contribution. He also designed Radio City Music Hall, Museum of Modern Art, Kennedy Center, Standard Oil Building, 2 Columbus Circle, First Canadian Place.

He received many architectural awards at the cost of his architectural  talent

  • First Honor Award, American Institute of Architects, 1958 – Stuart Pharmaceutical Co., Pasadena, California
  • Award of Merit, American Institute of Architects, 1958 – U.S. Pavilion, Brussels, Belgium
  • First Honor Award, American Institute of Architects, 1961 – U.S. Embassy, New Delhi, India
